No 'poo for me!

Ok, confession time.

I haven't used shampoo in almost 2 weeks.

It's kinda cool, actually.

It's also really amazing what 1C of water + 2 TB of apple cider vinegar will do for ones hair!!

I came really close to giving up shampoo a couple years ago. The hubster thought I was crazy back then. (he still does too, but he's not saying anything this time LOL)

I was reading about it being better for curly hair if you DON'T shampoo. Plus the girls' hair looks fine and they barely use shampoo. I practically had to tie Johanna down to get shampoo on her head once a week. :-P

So yay, no more struggles in that area.

Anyone else 'poo free??

Anyone up for a "No 'Poo" challenge? Think about it. :)

Do you notice your hair is more manageable? I once read that if you can go 1 week without shampoo (chemicals), your hair is thicker and more manageable. I think my hair would like an oil tank spill after about 3 days without it . . .

Haven't tried it yet, but the apple cider vinegar solution sounds fun! Anything that involves cooking ingredients usually does. HA!

welcome to the dark side!!! I have been poo free for about 2 years now. I think its been on my head 2 times since then. ONce at the hair dresser, and once when I was outta town and forgot my baking soda and needed a better than water rinse.

I do both baking soda as a first rinse, then lemon juice as a second. I just can't get over the apple cider vinegar smell. Even with EO's added in.

I have very long hair and the no-poo method works very well for me. I use baking soda to cleanse and lemon juice as a rinse and my hair is now softer, shinier and way more managable than ever. I get asked all the time what 'shampoo' I use and people are floored I use the above. I was fortunate, though. I didn't go through any icky transition of 'oil vat' head.
