Tag, you're it!

I saw this over on Danielle's Blog and thought I'd start one over here!

I need to tag 6 people for the meme. So, Kelli, Darlene, Chris, Donna, Sindy, and Deb...TAG! You're IT!

The rules:

The rules: People who get tagged need to write a blog post of 6 weird things about them as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says "you are tagged" in their comments and tell them to read your blog.

1.) I like cherries, but hate marachino cherries.

2.) I have an affinitey for roast beef or corned beef hash. YK, the stuff in a can, looks like dog food? LOVE it!

3.) I used to stand in front of the mirror when I was a kid, and do weird stuff with my tounge. YK, like make it do the wave, curl it, touch my nose... etc.

4.) Once, when I was maybe 13. my neighbor and I phoned Dominoes from in front of her house and had them deliver a pizza to us, in the street.

5.) When I was pregnant with Ava, I enjoyed the smell of cigarette smoke. Very weird, considering I have asthma, and can't hardly breathe when I smell it.

6.) I tend to make up really odd songs, and sing them around the house all day long.

Fabulous Fleece

Living here in the frozen tundra, I long ago discovered the wonders of
fleece. Fleece sweatshirts and pants. Fleece Jackets, and my favorite,
fleece socks.

Yes, socks. Especially since I practically live in my cork-foot bed clogs. These are a must have.

I've been trying to express the wonders of these socks to the hubster
for quite some time. It wasn't until Santa left some in his stocks (and
he actually WORE them) that he discovered the same joy I've known for
years now.

Naturally, he said "I must have more!"

So, today, since it wasn't -800 out, Ava and I did some shopping while J was at school. TJ Maxx is a great place to get said socks, cause they are a lot cheaper there than at your local sporting goods place.

Bonus of the day was that they are clearancing them out! I got a bunch of pairs for $5. So if you like fleece socks as mush as we do, RUN to you nearest TJ Maxx before they are sold out!

Whoa, it's Magic!

Here's a fun site where you can experience some cool flash animation
online magic, that
will leave you wondering, how DID they DO that??

Look into Esmeralda's Crystal Ball, See Merlin's Haunted Clock, or try my favorite, Magic Memory!

You can also find out the trade secrets behind several illusionist magic tricks!

Kelli! ~~ Part 4!

We were planning on ordering Pizza that night for supper. TGIP! :)
But when I took J to school that am, her teacher told us they were
having a "P" party. The letter of the week was "P". They had popcorn,
pop and pizza.

So on my way home that am, I decided I'd throw together a pot of chili instead. I called the hubster and let him know the sad news, since he was the one who was really wanting pizza.

Of course he said that, just so I wouldn't have to cook a huge meal. lol

So like I said earlier, he phoned saying he was going to be late. Good thing the chili was just ready and waiting in the CP.

Later he calls to say he's on his way. He arrives home, and I'm in the kitchen whipping up some corn bread, and I hear something about, "go down there" and out of the corner of my eye I see a little blonde thing run down the steps.

Yeah, OK, Kelli is here...

So i go about my business, fixing the cornbread and talkign to Eric, and I turn around and there's Kelli!

I KNEW IT!

I think I hugged her about 10 times that night!

They were bummed I wasn't completely floored. LOL I WAS however, very happy and excited that she and Stephanie were HERE!

After supper they unpacked a bit

And the girls played and played....

Stephanie was the horse! LOL

They did that until J fell, and bonked her noggin on the floor and declared she was ready for bed.

We talked, and watched some TV and all passed out, cause it had been a very long day.

Kelli! ~~ Part 3!

So, I'm trying to plan Ava's party, since Laura said she was coming
over. Only, anytime I try and ask Eric about when his folks are coming,
he says "Well, you never know. Depends on weather, etc.."

In fact, IM-ing with Kelli, I told her how he was driving me nuts, being all non-committal about Ava's b-day and I had CAKES TO BAKE!

At this point, I'm pretty sure that Kelli is coming. I considered messing with Kelli and Eric, but decided to be nice.

I did make a few comments here and there.

When Eric was talking about cleaning, I was like, who are we cleaning for? Is some random person just going to stop over out of the blue? :snicker:

So on Friday, the 19th... I'm cleaning. Eric calls and tells me he's going to be coming home late, that he got sucked into a meeting.

So being the good girl I am, I go to our airports website, and I look at the arrival schedule. Sure enough, there's a flight coming in from Denver, that's an hour late.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

To be continued...

Sunny Florida

Here in the US, Florida is a sought after location both for those wanting to go on vacation and for those looking to retire. The warm weather, sunny beaches and various amusement parks and attractions, also make it a desirable location for those in the UK. Looking for a retreat from the rain and fog, many Brittans are seeking out Florida properties where they can don a bathing suit and enjoy some fun in the sun!

Kelli! ~~ Part 2!

So, as I was saying....

After all that I was kinda suspicious, thinking he's either flying someone here, or flying us somewhere to see someone or perhaps even planning a vacation/IRL with a certain Disney Freak I know.

I've also been complaining about how I need a new computer, so that was also something I thought of as a possibility, but that really didn't fit into the "Friends or Stuff" line of questioning. lol

I was fully expecting all this to come out at Christmas.

Christmas came and went and there was no mention of anything.

I was kinda bummed. Ok tho... My Mom was here... maybe after she left, then my surprise would be revealed.

Nope.

Hmmm, okkk...

Well let's see there's a long holiday weekend in January, maybe then.

Nope.

Hmmm, oookkkk...

THEN... I start getting ..

What are we doing for Ava's birthday? Are we having people over? Who? I'm going to call my folks and see if they are coming. Ok, they are coming (they didn't LOL) we really need to clean the house.

There was this big push to clean the pit house. There were offers of help to clean the house. This needed to be done BY FRIDAY, despite the fact that the IL's weren't supposed to be coming till Monday.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Not to mention this all started about a week prior to Ava's b-day and he started in on, we should clean THIS weekend. Yeah... what dreamland is HE living in. We have a 5yo and an almost toddler. You REALLY think cleaning a whole WEEK beforehand is going to result in a clean house a week later? Yeah, ok buddy, pass me whatever it is you are smoking.

Then there was my dear friend Laura... I picked up on some not-so-subtle board posts and IM's from her, about her telling her hubby that SHE had PLANS for the weekend of Ava's b-day, and ruining his crazy family ski weekend pipe-dream. ;) She was also ever so insistent that she WAS coming to our house this weekend.

Blondes really don't get the whole secret thing, do they? (running)

So, with all that going on you can imagine I was starting to figure all this out. Now I wasn't 100% certain, but it sure was looking like I was going to get my surprise sooner than later.

To Be Continued...

Soap Addicts Wanted!

Ok, admit it, you sit on the couch all afternoon, eating bon-bons, watching soaps and letting the kids destroy the house, right? Ok, maybe not. Maybe you are actually on kid-tv overload while you run after the stripping toddler, who just tried to dress up the dog, who is now entangled in your favorite houseplant.

So you are dying to watch your favorite Soap Opera, but you're a busy Mom, so what are you to do? I'll tell you what you do, you go to http://www.soaps.com and get and read all the great updates they have there. Never miss a juicy detail or Friday cliffhanger again!

So, go! Now! and get all caught up on the latest news, gossip and show updates!

Kelli! ~~ Part 1!

Since I have some time, I thought I'd post more about my visit with Kelli and Stephanie.

It all started a while back with a game of like, 9 million questions, presented to me by the hubster.

Included in these questions were things like "If you had to pick, would you pick friends or stuff"?

WTH kind of question is THAT?

Of course I'll pick friends over STUFF....

errr... what kind of stuff?? (wink)

Can't tell you that.

Ok, definitely Friends then.

Maybe a month later this was followed by something along the lines of...

I'm spending X amount of $. It's for a surprise, so don't ask me what it's
for, I just don't want you to freak out when you see the bank statement
(I do the bills around here...muahahahahaha)

So, already, that sets my little mind into motion....

Awww, so sad. Do you all remember Barbaro? He was the favorite after winning last years Kentucky Derby, and then sadly, injured himself when he prematurely came out of the starting gate at the Preakness??

They had to put him down today. I was really pulling for him to recover. :(

Monday Runaround

Time to get back to the old grind.... our weekend of sloth is now over. It's back to reality here! LOL

J goes back to school, and Ava and I need to hit the grocery store, and clean up the pit house, and do laundry and actually cook food for people.

At some point I need to sort through my coupons, a bunch will be expiring this week, and I need to figure out if I HAVE to use any of them before they expire or not.

You're jealous of this exciting life I lead, aren't you? LOL

With that, and the fact that I now have about 21#'s of baby on my lap, trying to help me type, I will say adios for now. :) Have a good morning!!

LOL

Back in the days before the internet (anyone remember those?) If you wanted to see a funny video, you had to wait for Bob Saget to come on TV. Now, funny videos are just a click away.

You envy me, don't you???

Anyone wanna start taking bets that I go completely grey before she turns 3?? Anyone??

Dubai

Have you heard the latest about Dubai? Apparently, several large scale construction projects have turned Dubai into one of the fastest growing cities in the world! I had no idea!!

Due to their government's decision to switch from an oil based economy, to one that is focused more on tourism and hospitality, property in Dubai has become a very hot commidity. From retail construction to high rise apartments, Dubai is on it's way to becoming an international vacation destination!

Brrrr

Are you tired of me bitching about the weather yet? I know, I know... I live in SD, get over it, it's cold there! LOL
I don't mind it, really, but this year has been so weird. I mean one
morning it's 32 out and the next it's -7. They've gotten more snow in
Denver then we've had here. It's just crazy.

I may venture out
today. I really like to go out and get the Sunday paper. Especially
since I'm all about the coupons and checking all the ads for the best
sales. :) Totally worth the $1.50 I have to shell out for the paper!

I also have a hankering for Chinese takeout. We can get delivery, but then i'd have no reason to go get my paper. lol

I caught the tail end of this new MTV show this am, called "engaged & underage". Looks like it will be a good drama-fest. :)

Lazy Lazy Lazy

Lazy day!! I've done nothing, pretty much! LOL I even made leftovers for lunch. It looks so pretty out! I almost consider going out to get the mail and then I hear the wind howling around outside and I think better of it! :)

Family Friendly Travel

Spring Break will soon be upon us, and now is the time that many families are planning where they will be going on vacation.

Many people are concerend about staying in child safe hotels. You can never be too careful when it comes to child safety. Not only do you want to have a fun vacation, you want to have a safe one!

Happy Weekend!

YAY! It's Saturday!!

We don't have any big plans... in fact, we may just hibernate, given the cold weather and the icy wind that's blowing around out there. but, YAY! I don't HAVE to go anywhere! After a few weeks of dragging J to and from pre-k everyday Iit gets a little old. LOL I'm really looking forward to just walking her down to the corner and tossing her on the bust next year. LOL I'm so not going to be one of these Moms that drive their kids to school everyday. I've joked around with my friend Cathy, that we will be standing out there in our Mom Robes, drinking a hot cup of something with curlers in our hair, waiting on the bus. LOL Won't the kids love us? hahahahahaha

Aanyway, hope you have a great Saturday, weather you are vegging in front of the tv, or going out skiing. ;)

Free Cell Phones

When my Mom was here visiting over the Christmas holidays, her cell phone was giving her problems. She couldn't get a signal here from the house, and despite the fact that she had gotten one for the past 4 years, her company told her they didn't have service here. She ended up switching carriers when she returned home.

I wish I had known about www.wirefly.com then. They are the #1 Cell Phone shopping site on the web! They have an extensive list of FREE cell phone with new cell phone plans! You can shop by carrier, by phone brand or by service plan! I typed in my zip-code and in a matter of seconds, there was a list of the carriers available in my area. Frozen Fog

Bah! I totally meant to take some pics this morning to share with you
all! It was foggy almost all day yesterday and well into the night.
This morning the trees looked SO pretty. Like they had been dipped in
white chocolate or something.

Johanna even said they looked so good, she wanted to taste one! LOL

I don't know if this happens everywhere or just here in the frozen tundra or not, but it really is a beautiful sight to see.

Pogo

I'm such a Pogo addict! Anyone out ther eplaying pogo as well? I just love it. They have a great variety of games, and I just love the weekly badges. I just love a good challenge!

I'm sdcyndi over there. feel free to add me to your friends list, and harass me. :)

ER

No, noone here went to the ER! I'm talking about the TV show. Is anyone still watching? We have been faithful ER watchers all these years. I know quite a few people who have given up on it. They think it's run it's course. Don't like the newer cast, etc... but we really enjoy it still... even tho now that we have kids, we have to record it and watch it the next evening. We're too tried to stay up till 10pma. Sad, but true! LOL

I'm hoping tonite's show is new. Last week was a re-run. BAH!

Infertility

Many of you know that Johanna was born 4 years to the day of when we started TTC.
It was a long road for us, involving lots of testing, procedures,
and miscarriages, before we finally got the baby we were dreaming of.

Fortunately for us, we only ever needed a good dose of Clomid and IUI's to become pregnant.

For many couples, IVF becomes necessary. Either they try several rounds of fertility drugs and IUI's without success or they may have other issues relating to male factor infertility or PCOS that prevents them for being able to become pregnant any other way.

Randy S. Morris M.D. is a certified IVF specialist based in Chicago Illinois. Dr. Morris specializes in invitro fertilization, PCOS and PGD.

He has a very comprehensive and informative site. They explain what all
the various procedures are, and have a great resource page as well. You can also find out about the Illinois infertility insurance law that mandates infertility insurance coverage, including invitro fertilization cost.

I have several friends who have had the procedure done (some, multiple times) with great success!

If you are struggling with your fertility like we did, and are looking for help and answers, this is a great place to find help!

Checkup

Ava had her 1 year checkup today. She's growing right along on the 50th percentile curve. There was some concern about her iron levels at her last visit. I'm happy to report that her levels went up considerably this time! She's not totally out of the woods yet, but we are definitely heading in the right direction!!

Healthy Husbands

As a breastfeeding Mom, I always take my daily supplement. I have since learning I was pregnant. Supplements are a great way to ensure that you are getting all the nutrients that your body requires.

I know that seeing me take my supplement every day, got my husband thinking about the fact that he should be taking one as well. One night he asked me if I would pick up a daily supplement for him.

I discovered that MenScience has come out with an Advanced Antioxidant Supplementk, just for Men. Advanced Antioxidants supports the body’s important antioxidant processes which are critical to maintaining optimal health levels.

This is a great way for men to get proactive about their health!

Snow Fun!

Today, along with J, her backpack and Ava... I need to haul the following to school with her.

A Sled

A Shovel

Boots

Mittens

Hat

Scarf

Snowpants

... and, I think I'm going to throw in some extra socks for good measure.

UG!

Good thing I got a huge shopping bag from The Gap last week. Most of this will fit in there! LOL

Days of Our Lives

Back in the day, I was a HUGE soap opera fanatic, to the point of
running fan pages and posting on boards, and updating web sites for
people who missed that days' show. One of those show was "Days Of Our Lives". Over at Soaps.com, they have great Days of our Lives
updates
for days when you can't sit and watch the show, but
need to know what happened! You can also read spoilers, catch up on the latest gossip or check out their message boards! This is a great site for any DOOL fan! Head on over there and check them out, and get all caught up on what is happening on Days!

#1 Birthday!

My baby turned ONE yesterday!

We had a party for her on Saturday, and a small celebration last night too. Her Poppa is very proud. He always tries to get as many birthday celebrations in as he can. He prefers having a "Birthday Week". lolHe was impressed that she managed to get 2 parties and 2 cakes for her First Birthday. ;)

This is how she felt about cake #1

Isn't that priceless?

Yesterdays' cake was better recieved

So, that's that.. in a flash my baby went from just being born, to being 1 and on the verge od running walking. Next, J will be going to college...

Coupon Savings

As a SAHM, I am always looking for ways to save a few dollars here and there.

When I need grocery coupons, I head to our local paper, but when I am looking for coupon codes for Target I head to Coupon Cheif. They have a great selection of recent codes for many of your favorite online retailers.

MIA

I've been MIA here for a few days. The hubby surprised me on Friday by flying Kelli and her youngest, Stephanie out here for Ava's First Bithday!

Sadly, I had to send them back home today, but we've had a blast!

Ava had 2 birthday parties. J and S I think are now BFF's and having Kelli here, was... well, it's really just beyond words. I spent the first four days saying "KELLI'S HERE!" every few hours. LOL

Phonics Police

Remind me school is a good thing and kids need to learn.... LOL

J has turned into the freaking Phonics Police...

Case in point... We are showering in the am before school. She's counting...

"What comes after 10 again, Momma... I forgot."

"11." (I say uh-leven)

"Moooooooooooooooooooooooom... it's no UH-Leven it's E-Leven. If it was "UH-Leven, it would start with a 'U'".

Picture me rolling my eyes here...

Later, we are talking about all the girls in her class. I say:

"You forgot about Olivia" (I say Ah-Livia)

"Mooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom, It's not AH-Livia... if it was AH-Livia it would start with an 'A"! It's O-Livia. Everyone calls her 'AH-Livia' but her name is O-Livia! O-Livia is MUCH prettier than 'AH-Livia'!"

lord help me to survive the school years......

Charming

Despite the fact that we bought Charmed: Season 6 ages ago, we hadn't gotten much past disc 2 until this week. Then with us all being sick, we sat and watched the rest.

Season 6 is my favorite season, hands-down. I had forgotten how great it was, until we re-watched it on dvd. I really didn't want to stop watching. I was glad I didn't have to wait through commercial breaks or wait a week in between shows!

Season 7 will be out on Feb. 6th, and we'll be adding that to our collection as well, but honestly, it's all downhill after Season 6.

So the delivery guy never did show up. Blah.

Hubby was home sick yesterday. Blah.

Ava yakked yesterday. Blah.

Hoping tomorrow, I'll be feeling better. The floors need roomba-ing. The dishes need washing.

I just would like to be able to stand up, and NOT feel sick.

Blah.

Ava's first pic

Look, wasn't she CUTE! ;)

blobbysmall

15 Days...

FIFTEEN DAYS, till my Baby tuns ONE! 1!?1 Is that really possible?

Time to get Sappy....

C&P'd from a board I run at WC.... I wrote these on May 31st, 2005. :)

So I was expecting AF some point this w/e...

and I had some crack PG tests laying around from last month, cause YK, you gotta buy those things in multi packs. So I thought, WTH, I will take an EPT this am since she hasn't shown up yet.

This isn't the greatest pic, but there's supposed to be a +, well there was a + but the line across was kinda dotted looking so I was like, OK... it's probably some fluke.

Here I had a link to a pic. I don't have the pics at that location anymore, but here is what the link took you to see... :)

first

So then I looked around and relaized I still had a FRED test left, so since it was early in the am still, I figured I could just not pee for a while and try that...

Well lookie what that said....

then

Here they both are:

whee

So cross your fingers, cuase I'm just a few days late and with my history I'm like, OK... and hanging on for the next thing.

It's funny cause YK I draft had the cider thing and a beer and a beer and another cider thing yesterday. On Sat I said to E, watch I'll be PG and here I am drinking. LOL

So I called him this am and said "What are your thought on children who have medical issues due to thier mother drinking before she knew she was PG with them" :-D

Naturally I haven't been taking my vitamins either... :-P

Someone tell me to stop worrying. :)

So, that was the START of Ava... ok, well not the exact start, but no pics of that. ROFL.

Tho my Mom was out here for Mothers Day that year, so we like to blame her. LOL

Anyway, prepare for lots of pics and sappy sentiment over the next couple weeks. :)

My New Years Resolution

hehehehehehe

In the year 2007 I resolve to:
Sell myself on ebay.

Get your resolution here.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

J's has a cold. Her fevers gone, but she has this hacking cough, keeping us all up at night. Bah.

When we go to return the rental movies to the drugstore later today, I think i'm picking up a nighttime cough/cold/knock-her-on-her-ass medicine. We all need SLEEP!
