If you are my age, I'm sure you not only know that song by heart, but you were also a Police fan growing up. They were such a defining force of the early 80's.

Who can forget the Synchronicity album? I remember sitting in my room, after school, working on my homework like a good girl, and cranking up the radio whenever "Every Breathe You Take" came on!

Of course we can't leave out seeing them on MTV! I think most of my class was in love with Sting! lol

If you haven't heard, on June 5th, The Police released a 2 disc compilation CD. Included with the Police Cd is a vintage poster! Won't your hubby be surprised to come home and see you drooling at a poster of the group that is now hanging on the wall of your Master Bedroom?!

I'm a big fan of compilation CD's. I like being able to have all my favorite hits in one collection!

Memories

I've been reminded of something this week. It's been a HUGE wake-up call too. I've been reminded of what daily life is like with a VERY busy 17 nth old. LOL Holy cats! Ava's always been busy. She finally realized she could go down the steps in the house. She's been able to crawl down steps for a while now. I think it's because we mostly would carry her up and down here at the house, that she didn't realize she had that option here until this past week.


It's now ALL she wants to do. If I dare close the door down here so I can try to get something done, she has a complete fit. Full on screaming and all that. yay. If this keeps up, I may be drinking heavily by the time she's 2.5. LOL

It's interesting, having a toddler and an older child. Ava wants to do everything her big sister does. So I think that makes her 10x braver than Johanna was, which is scary. lol

We've been doing some "Spring Cleaning" around here. It's been good, but stressful, since like I said, trying to do anything with Ava awake is near impossible. LOL

Today I have to run errands. I'm looking forward to getting out of the house. I really don't do the 90+ degrees and humid thing very well! It's been like that for a good 4 days maybe. ick. So it was good weather for me to be cleaning... inside... with the a/c. lol

I love this pic, and love all the fly away hair. Her long hair drove The Hubster nuts. He'd get waay too many pick of it flying in her face. LOL

My Dogs are driving me to Drink!

So last night... the dogs are out in the yard. Ava was boobin' and half asleep. The Hubster was, uhhhh .... otherwise occupied. ;) They were out in the yard for a bit, not too long. At one point Buddy barked and I yelled at him to "Be Quiet" from our bedroom. lol

So Hubster is available before I am, and goes to let the dogs in. Only, he only finds Buddy out there. He's like, did you let Dottie out too? I told him I was pretty sure I had. He can't find her. I asked if her looked under the deck. Yep, he did. She wasn't there. Now, keep in mind we have a 6ft cedar fence with padlocks on the gates. There's no where for her to go.

By this point, Ava's asleep in the bed and I'm out on the deck. I'm looking around, when in the faaaar corner I see there is some chewed up fence and a small hole.

I'm like, uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... look over there! Little Miss Houdini chewed a hole in the bottom of t he fence and got out!!

He found her across the street in the neighbors yard, but UGH!

At least it was before 5pm, so I was able to call the fence place and get on the schedule for them to come out and replace the boards. Bah.

Oh and keep poor Buddy in your thoughts today. He's off in a bit for the ole' sinpperoo surgery. :-P

Momma's got a brand new

DELL!

I got an email from them the other week about a 3 day sale. I was very subtle and C&P'd the whole thing in an IM to the Hubster! hehehehehe. The hubster, sick of me whining about my ancient system, told me to "go for it". My New baby arrived yesterday!!

YAY! well, except that I need to get a converter cable for my wonderful split keyboard. I'm currently using this teeny tiny thing that came with the system, and it's a challenge, for sure!

Certainly makes me realize that while I may like the concept of a laptop, I'd probably hate one! I need a full, comfortable keyboard!

I also need to transfer my mail program over here too. I left the pics and stuff on there, cause our plan is to get a desk and set up my old system with games and things for J to use.

I sent out a WANTED on on Freecycle, but haven't found anyone with a desk to give away yet, so I may need to suck it up and buy one. If you know of any good sales on (cheap) computer desks that would work for a 5yo, please let me know. :)

I need to work on cleaning the whole computer area now too. My desk looks like it was hit by a bomb.

Oh and I thought CPU's were supposed to be getting SMALLER? This is bigger than my 5 year old Gateway... sheesh! Owell. I can now have two different browsers open at the same time, and my comp doesn't come to a screeching halt. So, I'm a very happy Momma!

I AM happy it's Friday. Despite the fact that I still had to run out and do some errands. Apparently, the dogs like to have food. Dang them. ;) If not for the fact that there wasn't enough food to last them until Monday, I would've totally stayed home.

Traffic was bad enough today. I wouldn't want to have tried it tomorrow. Plus we are jam-packed with things to do tomorrow too.

As I was standing in LINE at the self Checkout at Wal-Mart (yes, you heard me right) I was thinking that I was glad it was Friday, and that we were about ready to be DONE and on the way home.

J got her 1/2 way progress report for swimmign yesterday. She's doing really well. She needs to work on a few things tho. I told her her teacher said she needs to practice those things, and she says "Mom, how can I practice when we don't have a bog pool"?

Uhhh, ok good point there.

Being the clever Mom I am, I told her she needs to practice them AT swimming lessons. That while her teacher is helping the other kids in her class and she's waiting for her turn, that she can work on some of the things she needs to do.

"Oh, Ok."

I have more to post about T-ball last night, but the hubster is out scaring the killdeer Momma with the lawnmower and needs me to find a clean shirt for him. :-P These are HIS shirts, surely you think HE'D know where they are. That's where you (and I too appparently) would be wrong. :-P

The NewsRoom

I love News Stories like this!! It reminds me of when we got our cat, Lucky. I was about 5 or 6 at the time. She was in a foster home for our local Humane Society. She had been found wandering around, and was very tiny. Thus they names her "Lucky". The Foster homes' pet cat had just had a litter of Kittens. The Momma took Lucky on as her own, and even became her favorite one! LOL

Much more interesting tho, when it's a dog, nursing kittens!

I found this great site called The News Room. They have TONS (and I mean TONS) of news clips and videos from all over. Looking for that clip you saw, and wanted to share on your blog? They probably have it there!

I had a lot of fun looking at all sorts of clips from the Midwest area. It was fun too, seeing a lot of the news anchors I remember watching when we lived in MN. Funny how they haven't seemed to have aged in 5 years! LOL

Signing up for the service is free, and it was really easy to embed the video right onto the blog.

They also offer an incentive program. You can get paid for putting the clips up, based on how many views they get. They also offer prizes too!

Mostly, I just think it's a fun way to share some interesting news stories with your readers and friends!

Mind Games

I keep hearing this noise. One that sounds like a HUGE Horse fly is buzzing between the blinds and the window.

YK, the kind of fly that could suck you bone dry in about 2 seconds.

So after staring over there for a while, I realize it's not so much a fly in the window, but J's Mylar Dora balloon rubbing up and down the wall thanks to the air coming out of the a/c vent.

So KNOWING this now, why, every time I hear that sound, do I still immediately think there's a fly in the window?

I really should move the dang balloon before it drive me bonkers. LOL

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!

What a busy couple weeks it's been! My Mom was here, The IL's were here. J started T-ball games. We've been out in the pouring rain for one of them. (ok, well I ran back to the van with Ava, and the rest of them followed shortly there after..lol)

The girls and I have started swimming lessons. J loves hers. Ava's not too impressed, and I forgot that carrying a 21lb child for 30 mins in a pool was actually work, until I tried to climb up the stairs 2 days later. LOL

There've been lots of pictures taken.

We've survived being blown away in the gusty wind yesterday!

Let's see.... There's a Killdeer nest in our front yard.

Next week (if I can remember to actually call and make the appointment) Buddy will be going in for THE surgery at the vet's. He's 2. It's time, it's past time, cause he's really getting obnocious. lol He needs his testosterone cut off. No pun intended. lol

Hope everyone is doing well. I'm going to try and get caught up with everyone in the next couple days.

Ohhh, almost forgot my biggest news!!
